In the heart of the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina, an enduring tradition has been passed down through generations. A vision to manufacture the finest quality furnishings that would sustain years of use, as well as compliment individual lifestyles, became reality in 1981 when Hancock & Moore was founded. That vision is displayed in each piece of Hancock & Moore furniture through the skillful touch of master craftsmen like Jimmy Moore. At the beginning of each production day, you will find Jimmy Moore there to ensure that his high expectations of quality and sheer attention to detail are carried out. With the help of his fellow craftsmen, Jimmy Moore transforms solid woods, soft leathers and fine fabrics into hand crafted furnishings no machine could ever match. Whether it is trying to meet shipping deadlines or surveying production with his skilled vision for perfection, Jimmy Moore is one of the last to leave at the end of each work day, assuring that your handcrafted Hancock & Moore piece is shipped out from our factory and into the home of a satisfied customer. When I choose the employees for Hancock & Moore, I choose people with dedication, experience and pride in what they do. I am proud to say that Hancock & Moore is home to some of the finest craftsmen in the country who have come from a long line of furniture builders. Their skill is rare and has transformed Hancock & Moore into one of the most sought after manufacturers in the industry.
I select only the finest materials when crafting your furniture. Afterall, you need something that's going to last. I start with the frame, most of which you will never see. It is the foundation for each piece of furniture. I purchase wood from around the world, selecting only Grade A. Our frames are double-doweled and reinforced with corner blocks which are screwed into place. This guarantees that the joints will remain solid over time. Many of our frames are hand carved with detailed decor, sculpted from a solid block of wood, which is uncommon. Each frame is hand-sanded more than seven times to give it a silky touch.
I am one of the last manufacturer's to require eight-way hand tied springs. It ensures a long lasting, comfortable seat. Our cushions are made of Qualux, a resilient material that retains its shape while remaining soft and comfortable. A piece of furniture from Hancock & Moore will be one in which you can relax and enjoy yourself.
